Our Founder
Raised on the small island of Bequia in St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Captain Rochell Roache-Lanza looked to the skies with a vision that stretched far beyond the Caribbean. With no direct path into aviation and limited resources, she carved her way into the industry despite the odds.
First as an ICAO certified air traffic controller, and then as a pilot across the Caribbean, Africa, North America, and Latin America. After thousands of flight hours, flying aircraft from turboprops to Boeing jets, and becoming one of the few Black female captains at the world’s largest airline; American Airlines, she saw a gap that remained. The Caribbean is rich in talent but starved of opportunity in aviation education.

So, she came back to change that.

AATI was founded to fill that gap. It's more than a school, it’s a mission to train, empower, and elevate the next generation of aviation professionals right here in the region. We don’t just teach; we mentor. We don’t just certify; we prepare students for global success. From pilot licenses and air traffic control to aviation maintenance, our programs are built to the highest international standards, so that our students can launch their careers anywhere in the world.

At AATI, every takeoff is personal because we know the journey it takes to get here.
